@DickLodge68 I DO work for a living, but hundreds of thousands die each year because of poverty in this nation, and that's inexcusable. MOST of the able-bodied adults in poverty work, and STILL cannot make ends meet because of corporate greed.

You talk about "luxury", food isn't a luxury, nor is housing, or education, or health care. They are HUMAN RIGHTS, and not a soul should have luxuries until EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US has those human rights met.

@DickLodge68 More ignorance. The US is absolutely NOT based upon capitalism, there's not ONE WORD in either the Declaration of Independence OR the Constitution declaring capitalism or banning socialism. Not one word.

You insult MLK's memory with your lies, you've obviously never read his books or listened to entire speeches, MOST of "I Have A Dream" was about economic justice for the poor, describing redistribution of wealth. He WAS a socialist, and supported union labor.

King was marytred in Memphis while working with sanitation workers, the hardest working people imaginable, who were paid peanuts. The whole system is rigged so the rich get richer and the poor get screwed, hard work has nothing to do with it. Nobody should have luxuries until the basic needs of ALL are met.

@DickLodge68 China is embracing capitalism because of greed, not because "it works", because it DOESN'T. Millions die worldwide in capitalist nations, entirely preventable deaths linked to poverty. We fight war after war after war for empire and greed. It's NOT WORKING.

There's nothing remotely "detrimental to society" in spreading the wealth. It's a SICKNESS to brag about working at 13, I did too, because I HAD to. Nobody should have to. 13 is for being a CHILD.

@DickLodge68 Twisted? Again Dr. King made identical references to economic justice, was HE "twisted"? You think it's not unjust to have a few people with billions while so many cannot even feed their children or get decent health care? Any decent human being knows how unjust that is.

The purpose of a human life is NOT to "work their ass off". We can provide the needs of ALL people with everyone doing FAR less than that, and ALL of us have a better life. It's not remotely unamerican.

@dicklodge68 It's not my original idea, the term economic justice I heard first from a minister named Martin Luther King. He and I know what you seem not to...that in fact wealth has nothing to do with hard work, that the system is rigged so the rich get richer, often without anything resembling hard work, and that the poor can work thier fingers to the bone and have nothing to show for it. And there's no reason to admire working 12-14 hours a day, the human life is not corporate property.

You truly are twisted in the mind, in my opinion. Why should some welfare case have the same economic luxury of someone that works their ass off? If you don't understand that, you are not as American as I am. You're love for socialism is not congruent with American ideals.
