Total time to complete was 54:30.

My run could be improved about 10 minutes using same strategy, Passageway leveling (3:25), but not getting all equipment I got (and if Swamp could be skipped)

One really radical strategy could involve walking the Fire Bridge without protection rings from Azcan Temple which would save a ton of time. Instead cast Resist Fire with Cleric. Completing even in under 30 minutes could be possible!

** I found out that Oltec Tradeway (5:55) can be entered when you get Withered Vine, but you get a message saying "You find the heat of this dungeon unbearable and can go no further". Sure I had resist fire cast on my two living[:D] characters. And it took only 10 minutes to get there :( **

Huge thanks to GameFAQs and http://www.opusgames.com/games/wotes/valley.html

  • How come your wands didn't disappear? Were you using save state?

  • Yes, tool-assisted speedrun means save states and luck manipulation. Without that this would be called a speedrun and would be take a lot more time.

  • It took me AGES to get through the pyramid

  • Gah, I used to hate the Azcan Temple when I was younger. Then I realized that thieves can disarm traps, which made for happy days.

    Awesome speed run!

  • I've never seen that game before. Interesting video.

  • One of my fave games for the Genesis. I always wished there had been a sequel. =^(

  • man the lightning bounce back used to fuck me up! i remember learning that the hard way.. haha

  • Yeah, you are right.

  • No, at 5:00, the elf is equipped with a wand of fire and shoots it at a red dragon. It deals damage!

  • It's a lighning staff, actually.

  • wand of fire shouldn't hurt red dragons....
