This is a rare John Lennon song written during the Beatles famed 1968 trip to India accompanied by some great shots of the Fab. It's about coming to India and trying to follow his heart, but knowing that his heart was really back in England where his love waited. It is speculated that Lennon didn't release it at the time because it would have made public his feelings for Yoko while he was still with Cynthia Lennon.

  • This song wasn't written in 1968, it's from the late Seventies. Certainly Lennon's voice doesn't sound here like it did in 1968.

And what's up with the overdubs?

  • Great song!!! Beautiful video. Great photos. Thanks. I'm a Beatles fan but I've never heard this rare little gem. 100% Lennon! It almost sounds like "Beautiful Boy" to me. Some of the chords and the chord changes are very similar. Very Lennon. Awesome! :)

  • @dytakeda Totally agree! 100% yeah. How on earth does this great song not make the White album? It's beautiful. It's sounds like Orbison or Elvis or something but also a nice salutation from India by the great John Lennon. Great song in my opinion.

  • Don't think I ever heard this one before... Kinda cool. Anyone notice the chords (and melody sometimes) are nearly exactly the same as "Hey Jude" during the verses? The last chord of the verse is stretched out somewhat but I think that's the only difference.

  • Beautiful song :) so, so beautiful, how else to describe this and any other Beatles song? :D

  • Great song, thank you :)

  • I play with capo on 4th fret with this sequence... C, G , C, F, C, Am, G, C. The "follow my heart bit" is F, C and G.

  • @NELSONPECINA tar buddy.

  • @chazs001 I always start the song on G, then D7, G, then the "i'm searching..." part with C, then G, EM, D7, then optional D then head back to G hehe

  • wonder what the chords are for this, defo E to start.
