Here is my meager attempt to cover of Up the Beach. This is all improvised, I play all of the leads spontaneously so they aren't exact to Dave's. Nor will my calibur ever be.

Hello, I've read guitar tabs for this song that say Dave uses a chorus, wah-wah, and delay pedal. Are you using all of these. Your version sounds very accurate to Dave's (kudos) and I was wondering if you might be able to clarify. I would really like to know because I'm very anxious to get this song down. Thanks.

Dave's most common guitar effects used are a Boss Digital Delay pedal and a Wah (for a lot of his solos). Almost everything on his pedalboard is Boss (he has a variety of stuff) I was actually playing this out of a Feder G-Dec practice amp and added some delay to replicate some of Dave's tonality. I didn't use a wah on this song. This was mainly improvised (in the key of D) I'm not very good at playing solos note for note so I just messed around in that key.

Thanks, it's definitely not exact, but it's so hard to play a lot of jane's songs note for note. The stuff Dave play's is just so intrinsic

A Digital Delay huh? OK, thanks. I'm using a DOD Tec 8 and its so damn primitive, most all I get is static. As you know, this song is very tense but I wouldn't really call it heavy, just tense. Thats what I'm going for. Thanks again.

Great one. Though improvising you pulled it off real nicely. Actually it's more interesting to watch I think this way, rather than it being exactly like the original. Great sound as always.
