Christie's auctioned this annotated copy of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights on June 22nd, 2012. The sale price is a record for any printed American book or manuscript. Washington bracketed passages and wrote "president" in the margins to indicate the powers of the executive branch. The book was purchased by Mount Vernon.
