In Al Frankens book, he said O'Reilly lied about growing up in Levittown on Long Island and when confronted with this, he said a "crazy lie" and claimed there was a "Westbury section in Levittown".

In fact, most maps of Long Island show this statement to be factually accurate and when Franken had a Levittown historian on his now defunct radio show to answer the question, she confirmed that in fact O'Reilly is correct: he neither lived in Westbury NOR Levittown in a way, but both - exactly as O'Reilly claimed.

On the Late show with David Lettermen, O'Reilly also produced the deed to the house he grew up in, confirming that it was in fact designated as a house residing in Levittown NY.

Al Franken has not apologized.

  • haha damn. He got corrected by his own guest he brought in. How embarrassing. The big man that Franken is, I'm sure he appologized for saying O'Reilly lied about that.

  • Look into it a bit more. Franken didn't lie. The deed Bill produced was indeed valid but failed to show that Westbury hadn't yet been established. When they bought the house it was in the suburbs of Levitttown which became Westbury. So Franken's point is still valid, O Reilly didn't grow up in the hard knocks life.

  • LOL Franken didn't even know what the woman was going to say, before he brought her on the show--and as a result got OWNED!!!

So, I guess we can say that The Joker pulled "O'Reilly's TRUE birthplace" out of his butt, and just assumed them to be true.

And...it went out of his butt, through his fingers, onto the printed page, into the minds of "Frankensteins" who...who swallow it!

    And...you don't wanna pull things from Franken's butt--you just, you just DON'T....

  • Fair enough. You might want to explain that to some of the people posting comments on a video I was watching earlier--Michael Moore Versus Bill O'Reilly. They seem to believe that Bush could believe the intel that Iraq had WMD's and still be lying about the matter rather than simply being mistaken.

  • Al Franken sent someone to locate Bill's old house?? That's just scary. Perhaps Al should bring something to the table other than slandering Bill, Rush and any other commentator who has been in the game longer and will still be going strong after Franken has faded from view.

  • There is a difference between being WRONG and LYING. Lying shows intent to deceive, whereas being wrong shows he did not know.

  • Al is known for pole vaulting over mouse turds! and yes of course outright lying...BITTER LITTLE SHIT WHO FAILED ON AIR AMERICA GOT PUT INTO POWER BY ENEMIES OF THE UNITED STATES...end of story

  • I grew up in the Wantagh area of Levittown. Wantagh P.O. but Levitt development, Levittown school district. Played in Levittown Little League etc.

  • Back then, the Levitts (how Levittown got its name) built a large amount of homes such that when post office lines got drawn later on, parts of Levittown ended up with different mailing addresses. Westbury was one of such towns that had parts of Levittown in.

  • so im not getting this. when orielly said he lived in the westbury section of levittown, he implied that he lived in both of these towns. do the boundaries of these townships overlap or what?

  • Actually O'Reilly earned a Master of Public Administration from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, but I'm sure you knew that before talking out of your a#$.
