Back with the Valveking 112. This time I have an upgraded speaker listed below.
I am using the Epiphone Les Paul with Seymour Duncans.

The speaker is listed here:
http://www.warehouseguitarspeakers.com/proddetail.php?prod=BritishLead_12
I find it a little to trebley right off the bat but I need more time with it. I am thinking a Vintage 30 speaker may be good.

I hope to do some demos of a V1 tube swap next I will be demoing some pedals etc.

Just trying to show stuff I find it real interesting to be able to get in here and check out demos so just trying to give back a little.

Enjoy.

  • Man, I love your tests, you make me wanna buy this amp. I don't know how the speaker change affected the sound, but still IMO it sounds great. Waiting for more heavy riffs.

    Keep on rockin'

  • Thanks. Things are a little slow on more clips atm I am back in college online. I hope this weekend to review at least 1 pedal maybe 2. I am by no means a pro, I am by no means any type of guitar guru I just try to throw things out there because I find it so cool to read the same from others :)

    Thanks again

    Aaron

  • I had the green 16 ohm, actually I put the original back in I found the wgs cl80 to be a little to treblish for my taste I put the original back in.

I also just recently put a telefunken 12ax7 in V1 and will be demoing that soon (work has be busy atm)

    thanks for the comment

  • CD case = Mic stand = WIN!

  • Tune your guitar.

  • i got this amp a few days ago... the best sound for shredding

  • You could try an Eminence Tonker or Legend 128 in this amp. I think these produce a less harsh sound.

  • u said it

  • Just to go along with the WGS comments. I got 2 of the original classic lead 80's from them(before they had to rename them) they sound amazing. Teamed them with 2 g12t-75's in a half sealed half open back 4x12 true stereo cab. Classic Lead 80's sound so much better than V30's to me. But the WGS are great and they are so much cheaper!!!

  • fwiw, the warehouse lead 80 sounds good with a tiny terror.Pure british sound.

  • I replaced my stock speaker in the Peavey VK112 with an 80's Celestion G12K-85 (now sold as G12K-100) out of an old Peavey Butcher cabinet. They are a more sensitive 99db @1M speaker and therefore louder with less power. Plus a big 2" voice coil in it. Big chunky bottom end, smooth mids all the way up and amazing highs with no harsh treble. And no fear of overpowering the speaker at 100W handling power. A maybe unlikley but perfect match.

  • yes... :D

  • SWAMP THANG. Just put one into my VK212 and it's a completely new amp. Awesome speaker.
