Hey, korgm50guy i need your help.. i've just bought a new korg m50 and have to figure out the basic features.. you say it doesn't have a favorite button or a one touch button using which i can shift from one sound to another quickly during a live performance.. so can you tell me how to store the sounds i need in a bank in the order i want so that i can move from one to another in a live performance ? Thank you! :)

@RhesusVX Out of curiosity, how did the M50 compare to the M3(sounds, features, keys, etc.)?

What patch was that? I'm getting an M50 soon and like what you did. I'm sort of looking for a Peter Gabriel meets Zero One sound and that's in the target zone.

Can anyone tell me the names of the demo songs from my Concert EC 100 Korg piano? I searched every where but i can't find them. thx
-
Can you build up synths from scratch on the m50? I'm interested in building my own synths and nothing really says if the m50 can.

Yes

i know the M3 is, so I'm guessing the M50 would too

I wish we could boycott to lower prices sometimes :P

same here...
Is there any way to change to favorite sounds with 1 click? This is SO useful during live performance. Roland Juno kinda does this with their category buttons, does M50 have any similar capability?

Hi Dave... There aren't "Favorite Buttons" (I know what you mean though, my BOSS DR 880 has them, they're great), but you could set up your sounds in a bank for a gig in the order that you need them, and then just click the increment button. Thats what I used to do for my guitar patches when I played live, even if it meant having duplicate patches.. that way when I needed to switch, I just needed to click once.

This thing is to cheap for its capabilities, i'm scared it will fall apart or something.

I wouldn't worry. Korg makes good stuff, and stands behind their products. I've got just the standard 61 key version, seems solid to me. If you're going to gig with it, get a Pelican or Storm case, those things are indestructible.

Hey KorgM50Guy, I guess I need to 'fess up! I went to demo some synths, including the M50. I just couldn't pull myself away from the M3 - I knew I should've just stayed at home!
I was surprised at how much I liked the looks, but even more surprised at how it sounded! With the awesome keybed, conectivity, expansion possibilities, EXB-RADIAS, KARMA...I was sucked in and turned into a little kid again!
I decided to bite the bullet and have just ordered a fully-loaded M3-73XP :o)

That's awesome! Hey, sucking you in and making you feel like a kid in a candy store is what a good keyboard does. Nothing wrong with going for the M3... you just went first class while some of us contented ourselves with coach!
