Project Diablerie was formed in the middle of 1998 initially composed by: Lord Arthur (V/K), Mohammed Zahar (D), Goat Mendes (G) and Alden Nobre (B), since the beginning with the proposal of mixing erudite sonorities with as extreme as possible sections, always with high technical level and well arranged. Diablerie is a thematic theatrical band, of which your lyrics are based on RPG "Vampire - The Masquerade, that inspired Lord Arthur to create Diablerie inserting gothic theatrics elements in the bands performance.

In the end of 1998 guitarist Goat Mendes was substituted by Del Nunzio (ex-Bellica Mors, Draken and many other Brazilian cult underground bands), who with great technique and compositions left the band's music even richer. Soon after two other line-up changes happened: bass plaayer Shadowguest and drummer Danilo (ex-Venus, among others) joined the band. With this line-up the band recorded its first demo tape, "The Price Of Eternity", with only one song: "The Price Of Eternity Part I - The House Tremere".
After concerts, mixing heavy and well played music with theatrical stage
presence, the band got good recognition in Brazilian underground scene and
its fan base was already being formed. Soon Brazilian very respected
extreme metal label Demise Records showed interest in releasing "The Price
Of Eternity Part I - The House Tremere" on its compilation of Brazilian
revelations "The Winds Of A New Millenium Vol. 3", fact concretized some
months after. The CD also featured bands such as Soulless, As The Shadows
Fall, Zoltar, Necroterio and many others; on many reviews of it Diablerie
was put as one of the biggest highlights, as on Renegade 2k Web Magazine,
which stated: "The biggest highlight on this compilation probably
is Diablerie, with the song "The Price Of Eternity Part I - The House
Tremere", showing to be one of the most promising Brazilian extreme
metal bands, mixing sonorities of black and death metal with more
technical sections (surely the most technical guitar solo on this
compilation is on this song) and kind of inusited but very well placed
and executed male and falsetto lyrical vocals and choirs, resulting in an original sonority." During this time the band played with many different line-ups, but none got really stabilized. Even with that, Diablerie decided to record the band's debut EP, with Del Nunzio playing all electric, acoustic and bass guitars parts and Lord Arthur all Lead and Backing vocals. To complete the line-up were called two friends of the band: drummer Marcell Cardoso (from prog metal outfit Karma, which in the end of 2000 released worldwide its debut album) and keyboardist Fabrizio Di Sarno (also from Karma and who has played with many other bands, including extensive
touring with Angra).
In March 2000 Diablerie started the recording of the above mentioned EP, called "The Breach Of The Masquerade" and featuring 3 musical pieces: "Hecatomb", "The Price Of Eternity Part II: Diablerie" and "Nocturnal Survivor" in one of Brazilian's best and most specialized in heavy metal recordings studio, Contato (São Paulo-SP). The work was recorded totally digitally in 48 channels and with its release in the beginning of 2001, and will be followed by an extensive Brazilian tour in the same year. The songs in the EP show a band more mature, with high technical level, complex writing and fast and aggressive sections.
