The hats are because the women cover their heads in reverence to God.

And they're not told to wear huge hats, just to cover their heads when they enter the sanctuary. If they want to wear huge hats, that's their choice

The Bible says that a womans hair is her glory, and her pride. In order to submit yourself before God and in reverence to GOD'S glory, women cover their heads AND their hair with a hat. It's nothing about what it looks like, it's reverence to God and surrendering their glory before God

please they are over doing it & thats a big lie what about the ones that are not wearing a hat i believe the bible is talking about a head covering but to that extreme were it looks like a ufo on top of somebody's head especially with black folks they love to wear disco suits that look worldly & you might as well hang around a disco club holla

Until you die to the flesh you will not know God! Receive the spirit and that is not it! That is your pass to seek God through fasting and praying the Lords prayer! But nobody does or will because we think that is as good as it gets! It is a good step but not the last step if you fast and pray 40 days is the goal but you don't have to lay down and do it all at once! But if you can and if you do more power to you. Most people can't if they have lives and families to care for!

I love churches in the UK they are more stricter to me than many of the churches in the america's We are a strict holiness church and its rare to find many that teach the same thing as we do. Actually, the Greek word for "covering" and "hair" is translated the same.

Doesn't verse 15 of the passage that anthsmith2006 posted say that 'her hair is given her for a covering'? If that's the case, what's the need for a hat? Why have a covering over a covering?

The hair and the head are two different things. The hair is the covering for the head as well as the entire body except palms and bottom of the feet.

Many apostolic teach this in there church those that are still strict.
