Nice implementation... I'm just guessing here, But it appears you're sequentially removing seems, instead of marking them all ahead of time with a removal order. In order for the seam removal to work correctly, and without leaving large artifacting, The image has to have it's seams marked in an index with order of removal, BEFORE any removal takes place. That way, the actual removal process, doesn't get hung up on a spot or line/seam, and keep removing from that same area.

If I'm wrong, please excuse me... But I see this kind of error made quite often, in trying to replicate the seam removal technique.
As a photographer this will really enhance some of the work that I do.
