Project for FUEL Magazine. The request was for some insanely bright fog lights to be located in the FJ Cruiser's Mirrors. We disassembled a High-Powered CREE Off-Road light and transplanted the internals into the mirror. Since we had to eliminate the heat sink due to low clearance we opted to install a small PC fan in the housing to extract heat. These things look AMAZING! The video is in our shop in daylight with our work lights on, we had the chance to run these at night and the results surpassed ever our own expectations! For more info give us a call, or email info@aacstyle.com be sure to mention you saw the FJ on YouTube! http://directorzone.cyberlink.com/video/28980

  • are led lights like these illegal??

  • @LARC448 this is an Off-Road light, not intended to drive around with. If you forget these on or accidentally turn them on people flash their brights at you in the daytime!

  • Do you sell this as a kit?

  • @AllCityUnit we sell the actual LEDs but its not a kit although you can follow this video as a guide to do it yourself.

  • ...fogs that high and white in color? pointless...these in the current color and almost eye level configuration are nonsense and in fact would make it MORE difficult to see in the fog vs nothing or the stock fj mirror marker lights. not to mention illegal in most states to run pointed out like that and that high up. oh and yes...the fan set up would also be a great point for failure as there is no weather proffing whatsoever... oh but wait i know...'it looks cool' ...shittiots

  • @steeltown98 you may have missed the "Off-Road" part. This is for driving Off-Road and is no more illegal than any other Off-Road lights. As for the fans they are for heat dissipation put off by the 9W LEDs, they work great for what they are designed to do.

Sorry to see this video upset you so much, you should try to relax a bit. If you get worked into a frenzy by a video on YouTube that demonstrates the use of some simple LEDs I would hate to see how you deal with issues in the real world.

  • I have the same lights on my motorcycle (Vstrom) and they work exceptionally well! I have the 22 watt (1.8 Amp/2200 lumen) lights (X2) and they light up the night. I have two spare sets and always looked at the mirrors on my FJ wondering if I could fit them in there. Might have to try it. Great for lighting up the ditches at night.

They are indeed waterproof. Torrential rains of Vancouver Island waterproof. That's all the testing you need.

  • how did u take off the mirror

  • @stevebigler fucking typo... "NOT"... not 'now'

  • @danielgauthier1410h I know those fans.... and shit-tard... they are NOW waterproof. And in fact... generally they are flushmounted against the aluminum fins on a heatsink... as otherwise they are generally useless. So while I applaud the video, tech, and the light modification... they is some misguided failures that have been over-looked / glossed over.

  • @steeltown98 I ditto this guy! Please stop using the term FOG lights... unless you know what the hell you are talking about. These will provide nothing but HORRID splash-back in fog... or heavy snow. So while YES... they are cool, and offroad perhaps a good filler light... they are NOT FOG LIGHTS.

  • how did you open the mirror to reach the inside?

  • hey how did you dissasemble the mirror to fit in the lights I tried but i think it will break is there a screw or something TY please reply
