Our first day in Brisbane, we went for a wander and came across Town Hall, right there on Adelaide Street. We stepped in and the City Council was in session so we visited Council Chambers, listened to a wee bit of debate and then a motion was made to "Adjourn for Afternoon Tea!" The vote was unanimous and Council Chambers cleared. Very inspiring stuff, we agreed that Tea was a good idea.

Out front, we noticed that the Council's attitude toward mobility is demonstrated on Adelaide Street, not on some obscure dead end street in a distant suburb.

On this busy street, we paused for a moment to stand in wonder as streets and sidewalks all filled with people flowed so smoothly and successfully!

Perhaps the City Council of Los Angeles should break for Afternoon Tea sometime. Maybe even go for a walk together. It seems to work in Brisbane!

  • nice clip, but, unfortunately bikeways are only in some parts of the city - go to Germany if you want to see proper public transport and bikeway integration...
