You can build your own Ram Optimizer in C# using a few lines of code and Visual Studio Express. This makes your computer "dump" the stuff that it has in memory it doesn't need. The Technical term is "Garbage Collection". Forcing the garbage collector to run on managed code frees up resources and CPU cycles for big tasks and games.

  • I'm pretty sure putting your PC in sleep and then resuming does exactly the same thing.

  • @nobodypersonsomeone Not at all. Sleep mode just stores all the things you had in ram to the hard disk, and afterward comes back exactly the same.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom I know that. So how come I have about 25% RAM usage before going into sleep, after waking up from sleep, RAM usage has always gone down by about -10%?

  • @nobodypersonsomeone More likely it is just that while it was unsleeping time past and more idle threads were killed. But also several windows processes "sleep" for a time after system resume. Like BackGround Intelligent transfer, and background disk processes.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom I thought sleep keeps in in Memory and hibernate keeps it in the HDD. Stand By or Standard Sleep keeps RAM powered, Sleep or Hybrid Sleep stores the RAM to a HDD.

  • @3doog I don't do anything unless there is money involved.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom Do you actually find that fun, or are you doing it for the money? or both :)?

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom It don't need to be fun, More like a hobby.
