  • Ah, the good old Peter vs. Phil topic. Fact is: both are fantastic vocalists. Their approaches are different, but equally genius. Phil also is (not at the moment due to spine injury - I read) a fantastic drummer who still influences and inspires young drummers. Forget the '80s: listen to Phil on any version of the "Lamb" live. Outstanding!. I refrain from the songwriting topic because each one has chosen a different path. Anyway: I see no reason why Phil should be envyous.

  • Papabill, Peter's life changed during TLLDoB period. He had a child born and almost didn't live. Plus William Friedkin wanted to do a film with PG. Tony and Mike were the ones pissed at PG (Steve Hackett was being held back also). PC and PG set the record straight about the PC/PG feud on TLLDoB DVD in the 1970-1975 box set. In fact, PG had PC play drums for him on his 1979 UK tour and on his third solo album Melt so there is no jealousy. Just life changing events led PG to quit Genesis.

  • @JackBlair2 in my opinion you r oretty stupid men you r lady gaga fan

  • @JackBlair2 Shut up dude... This album is a masterpiece if you don't like it then just your fucking mouth

  • @JackBlair2 Opinions are like assholes: some smell worse than others.

  • The Lamb is a pretty stupid album, actually. It has good moments, but it's too much of Gabriel's nonsense.

  • @MrPapaBill 100% true

I is unfair that many people ignore all the Progressive, Fusion Jazz work related done by Collins at Peter´s departure and for many years afterwards. Phil helped build many of the early tracks of Gabriel, played drums on two Brand X albums taking no leading roll. Just drums, for the joy of it. He played hundreds of concerts filled with prog, played and composed heavy prog influenced song with Genesis and DID WANT to do a Lamb show in 2009.

  • @aihoschema In the beginning I didn't want to listen to anything but genesis with Phil on vocals. But when you grow as a genesisfan you just can't help yourself listening to both the old and the new. And the thing is that their voices sounds so alike that I actually sometimes doesn't care who sings. They are both gods.
