I bet you don't know who Chairman Khruschev that gave Russian Crimea to Ukrainian SSR in1954 was? Why don't you read in Wikipedia about the history of Sevastopol and Crimea?

Sevastopol has been founded by Catherine II in the18c when "Independent Ukraine" wasn't in the works yet.

2) Sevastopol was founded in 1783 by Rear Admiral Makenzie, in Russian service, as a base for a naval squadron, when Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Tatar Khans. In February 1784 Catherine II (the Great) ordered Grigory Potyomkin (Grigoriy Potemkin) to build a fortress and call it Sevastopol. Russian fleet has been there for more that 300 yrs.

In 1954 drunken Communist peasant Kruschev gave it a as a "present" to "brotherly" Ukrainian SSR which became in 1991 a separate country.

Romanian troops came on Ukrainian territory together with the troops of Nazi Germany and killed thousands of Soviet civilians of Jewish origin, Jipsy and partisans.
