I left the military because im aware lol. Soldiers are taught to conform for the job but that training spills over to all aspects of their lives. Ive always done the opposite of what others expected me to do and loath those who give in. If im crazy its probley for the better.

@JamesThWilliams But what if one is aware that they can leave a conformity, but choose not to? Is it still a base instinct if one acknowledges it and willingly chooses to go with it regardless of their ambitions?
