Preludes are slow? Is that why it has basically the same 1/4 and 60 time? Ill admit, the new Civic Si 06+ will beat a 5th gen Prelude by a little. They both have almost the same power but the Civic is only slightly lighter. Civic Si 06+ is about 2900lbs. Prelude is 3000lbs. But youre comparing 2 cars made both made by Honda with ATLEAST 5 years apart. Of course they would improve.

I dont know what gear the Si was in, i have raced many Preludes in my 8th gen Si with just an SRI, against the H22 I usually start to pull noticeably on 4th, at the end of 5th i'm usually ahead by about 3 car lengths.

Remember the Prelude is 15 years old. The design for the 5th started around 2+ years prior. its a car from the mid 90’s where the 8th Si is 10 years newer. The Lude is a fantastic car to drive, sporty but still very comfy. If you want to compare apples to apples stick a Prelude Type S vs the civic Si...

my wife's 01 prelude with a lsd 5spd conversion and jdm motor and trans is faster than my fa5. i was pulling on a random blue fa5 with ihe (untuned?) in the prelude. so i know my bone stock 07 civic si sedan is slower than her jdm prelude. only downside is the 115 limiter. up to there. its all prelude.

The SI is alot faster than Preludes is because of the gearing ratios. 6 speed vs 5 speed. Theres a really big difference.
