Ok yes it's sad, but it's also kind of stupid in a way. It doesn't seem like Tails or the others tried to turn him back or find a cure or anything. He did one bad thing, which was slapping Sally, because he was turned evil and by the way they reacted they knew Sonic was different and not himself, they don't ask any questions no investigation or anything, Tails just goes off to kill him. But at the end it seems Sonic was going to change back, tis a very sad story.
