Mary said it her self in a interview that at one point during the making of "Mary" Album she got off drugs but then her life started to spin out of control again around 2000 she was depressed over the death of her friend and she was still doing Cocaine and drinking hard and then a year later in 2001 she changed her life and got a reality check when Aaliyah died and she got sober around early 2002.
