I am having the same issue with my monitor. Found out that the capacitors in the power supply tend to go bad. Search for "LG L226WTQ-BF Monitor Repair - Do It Yourself Tutorial - Featuring Music by JAZZIZ" on youtube and you should find it! Good luck

@SPYmaps That may be some good advice regarding the turning it completely off which may extend the life of the product with no issues. I always had my system put my monitor on standby for the last 5 years fo my monitor and finally I am seeing degredation.
I get a white screen coming out of standby every day now. It's a pain but, I guess 5 years is a long time so no complaints. It served me well. After clicking the power off and on on the monitor, it finally shows the Windows screen.

i know this is a 2 years old movie, still i wanted to comment.
i have the exact same LG flat screen for almost 3 years now, and it works GREAT!
no problems at all with it, and i use it for at least 8 to 10 hours a day, i asume you just had a bad screen (that happens), this product is really fine.
a lot of people keep there stuff on stand by all the time these days, and that means that it doesn't last as long as when you put it OFF comepleatly.

you had to give it a little hit in the back and it was going to get working

This happend out of nowhere?
My LG Flatron wide monitor has the same issues when turning on (but no color temp issues). Unfortunately I can't even send it to LG because I live in Argentina (the monitor is not in warranty anyway). Am I screwed?

@megamix not sure, mine didn't repair it self so. Anyhow, it seems like they only did a firmware update or reset. So maybe it's possible to do ?
