  • @analoguos Thank you very much.

  • Geez, Mel Blanc was talent to so many mediums...radio, television, cartoons...rest in peace Mr. Blanc.

  • How long did his TV show run? It was like 1951 to 1963 or something, right?

  • @jimchapin Blanc pretended to talk to his wife on the phone, with a very sad story, inhopes of getting a good tip from Benny. Instead, Jack gives him 10¢ ( about the price of a candybar then), and Mel said he only got 10¢ for a routine he could have sold to B. Davis, a great dramatic actress.

  • @1brewski2 thanks!

  • @1brewski2 Yes Probably so. Chicago is my home town and my family has lived in the city since the 1800's also. They had better hospitals then they did in Waukegan at that time also.

  • @SHICOFF1 I think he was born in a hospital in Chicago even though the family lived in Waukegan. But he was and is Waukegan's favorite son anyway.

  • Timeless!

  • @caretaker245231 Many times they couldn't. Mel Blanc often made Jack burst out laughing on stage. George Burns could do the same thing. On the other hand, Jack could never make George laugh, even when he cooked up elaborate (and sometimes costly) sight gags. That wasn't to say that Burns never showed emotion: he cried openly at his longtime and dear friend Benny's funeral.

  • @jimchapin Per un centesimo scadente, ho sprecato una scenetta commedia avrei venduto a Bette Davis.
