@tdb20007 Your absolutely right. couldn't have put it better...and realistically, even if DLR had stayed in the band they would not have made it past 1989..let alone the grunge era. Sammy's "semi-granola-thing" (for lack of a better description) helped the band through till '97..

Losing Sammy Hagar was the final nail in the coffin for this band. They have never recovered.

If Eddie Van Halen hadn't lost his fuckin mind, we'd still have a kickass band with Sammy, Mikey, Eddie and Alex.
