Joanna Horton-Liaou works with Freshman Learning Community students in the "Identity" cluster on the Sanford Meisner Method of Acting. These exercises allow the students to get to know their classmates and themselves better.

In this video, students participated in an exercise where they assigned a distinct movement to their names and the group repeats each name and movement. The string of names/movements builds until the entire group is represented.

  • @MPL029 - You're right! I studied with Sandy for years and this is not his work at all.

  • its not that

    its not that

    its not that

  • @hortonliao1

Haa I was gonna say, this doesn't look very Meisneresque!!

  • This is Joanna: this video clip is a warm-up and misrepresents the Meisner workshop I taught there! Whoever posted it, could you take "Meisner" out of the title of your video? Thanks!

  • @MPL029, this wasn't the actual workshop. This was so we could get to know each other before we began.

  • I studied acting with Sandy in NYC..and trust me..this is NOT what he taught..this is merely a typical theater game class..I did it when I was in college..but NOT with Meisner.

  • i cannot believe this is one youtube. xD

though, it was a fun class period.
