The Hippy Gourmet is proud to announce that we will be participating at the upcoming 40th Anniversary of the Summer of Love in San Francisco. The event will take place on September 2nd, 2007 at Speedway Meadows and is presented for free by the Council of Light. This is a celebration of Peace, Love, Harmony and Good Will towards each other and our planet! Imagine all the beautiful colors of the human rainbow gathering and touching down in one location at this specific date and time! This is a chance to meet old friends and make new ones, for generations of good people to come together to see the bands, feel the music, recollect what is wholesome and balanced for a happy life - and take this forward for the next 40 years and beyond!
So come from all over the world to be here for this, you're not going to want to miss it!
Plus you can meet the Hippy Gourmet in person as he talks about using those Solar Ovens to cook up your favorite dishes!

I'll be there, i know of all the bands scheduled to be there, but im still wondering if there will be tribute bands, like a jimi hendrix experience, would you happen to know?

Oh and im 18, not that it is relevant....

  • Hope you can take some great vid's to put up on youtube. I would love to go...

  • Yes we'll definitely be filming the event, backstage and all around...so stay tuned!

    Peac and Love, HG

  • Hi - we've been so busy filming new shows and getting ready for the Summer of Love, that we haven't even checked the schedule yet...but we're there, come find the Hippy Gourmet banners in the vendor area.

  • As an original member of the L.A. Tribe of Hair, and a participant in the 1967 Summer of Love...I look forward to returning to San Francisco for the 40th.

  • We're so excited to welcome back friends and to make new ones too!

    Peace and Love, HG

  • this was one great event! i have been to quite a few music events, but this was much more then the music. All types of art forms were represented very well there. i flew down from Seattle early that morning and everyhing went great, no delays of anykind. Right when I got to GGP the event just started and the rest of the day was fabulous! I can't wait for the 50th! SOL. San Francisco... a true rockers town!

  • ohh i am so mad i missed it...but i didn't miss your cookies at harmony festival! KEllOGG my boyfreind and me met you through our friend manny, we loved the house you got but it sucks we missed out on the summer of love in sept. my mom passed away in july only 3 weeks after i had my baby so we came back to kansas....but i miss SAn Francisco and i Hope everything is well

  • I worked the event undercover and never saw a nicer crowd, I am a survivor of Kesey's first acid test and it brought back similar vibes, especially Moby Grape, we miss you Skip. I sure wish CJMcD and Barry were conversant with each other, bury the hatchet boys, good to talk with you again Hugh (Wavy) Romney. It was a pleasure.

  • I attended the Summer of Love 40th anniversary... it was 100% incredible. There was not a cop within a mile of that place. It's so nice to know that 100,000 people can gather peacefully to celebrate without being babysat by cops. This was a truly humbling even and I won't hesitate to drive another 2000 miles to see the next celebration.
