The American automobile industry is failing because they have been making the same basic product for a century. Instead of innovating and adapting as they should have following the first energy crisis in the early to mid 70's the big three stuck their heads in the sand and fought change since then. Here are two short clips that show the kinds of innovations that Detroit has resisted. And now it seems as if their resistances may be fatal to them.
So here we have clip from 1941 showing car from Henry Ford himself that was made from and powered by hemp. It's a direction the auto industry didn't move in and look where we are today. In the second clip we have a truly revolutionary electric car that is not being developed by the big three. It is a car that runs on electricity and can be used as a power source.
