The strong influence of New York City, from its hip hop culture to its street art, is prevalent within SSURs imagery. Equally as influential to his designs is Russ Karablins Russian background. He combines pop culture memorabilia with war propaganda, meshing past and present iconography, to create work concerned with sex, politics, and protest.
