nearly all armies at the time used skirmishers - even the "barbarians" It wasnt rocket science!

Hi everyone! My opinion is that the most powerfull ancient armies were the Spartiates and the army of Megas Alexandros with the Sarissa phalanx from Hellas , and the Roman Legion army from Roma!!! Long live Hellas and Italia!!! Greets Italian brothers!!!

I think they looked good after the Polybian reforms too. I like their use of hastati, principes, then triarii with skirmishers running up and down the lines. It was a genius idea to have light infantry up front and fresh heavier infantry in the back. It defied the normal battle positions at the time. Also, Romans were greatly inspired by the greeks, so I wouldnt put them down too bad.

Roman army did not look this good until Marius reformed, before every soldier had to get their onwn gear there and not all could serve, then after marius the army became a professional and awesome force, the roman army is so awesome
