The islanders of Grand Manan, N.B. will do just about anything to skate and play hockey, but with only a few days of skating weather each season, it's a lot of work for not much playing time. A few pwople have gone above and beyond first to build an outdoor rink; then lights and an old Zsmboni, and eventually a real indoor rink where we can skate the whole season. I've gotta give a hand to these people for their persistance. I guess Canadians will do anything to shoot a puck!
This certainly tells the story of a very determined community. It was all worth the work, when we look at our new arena.
