Liu Hailong (CHN) vs Robert Kaenorrasing (THA)
Guangzhou, China
75kgs
Unified rules - Punching, kicking, knees, elbows & throws. Elbow pads worn. Clinch time is shorter than standard Muay Thai match.

This is Round 3 & 4.

This was last match of the first China vs Thailand where elbows were allowed (elbow pads were worn though). Liu Hailong was former Sandawang. The last round in this file is shown as five but I am sure there is a mistake because there is another round five still coming up. I believe the mistake is due to the ring girl carrying the wrong banner.

  • the chinese guy didnt want to hurt the thai guy at the end becasue he got injury with his eyes.

  • Why do people keep whining that this is unfair to the thai? The chinese has 5 seconds to throw during clinch, just like the thai has 5 seconds to knee. If the chinese could throw in time, I don't see why the thai couldn't knee in time. Look at 6:17. The chinese kneed the thai guy lightly. The thai guy definitely had ample time to knee.

Also, the thai simply missed all his kicks cos sanda guy dodged well. Thai left himself wide open many times after launching a kick.

  • Liu HaiLong the best ! Sanda better than Muay Thai

  • A chinese guy is a bit better than a swimming team

  • Liu Hailong dodges like the devil :)

  • more like wrestling, not muay thai. If its real muay thai fighter, the red one is dead in the second he grad the leg

  • @Sicilian49 No. It has mixed rules with everything allowed in Muay Thai and everything allowed in San Shou. It's equal to both.

  • Sanda or San Shou as it is also called is essential MMA...it is a combination of kickboxing, boxing, wrestling and Grappling...So Therefore is virtually MMA without the submissions...Stylistically speaking will always give a traditional striker a run for his money...All he did was clinch and trip him...If it was pure striking, my moneys is on the Muay Thai fighter 9 times out of 10...My Opinion
