AdAware Free Anniversary Edition

AdAware Anniversary Edition from Lavasoft is an updated version of AdAware2008 with a few changes to its interface. With close to 10 years of malware experience users would expect something better. AdAware Anniversary Edition apparently does offer improved performance and efficiency, along with comprehensive malware protection.
The user interface was using 35% - 48% CPU, which I thought was far too high for idle mode.
On my blog I have also included an email from a less than satisfied customer who upgraded to the paid version of AdAware2008.

oh wow umm lets see i have windows vista i think its a 32 bit. some of my problems is when i turn it on it says windows has encountered a critical error and will restart in a minuet then shuts off and keeps doing the same thing over and over. my friend turned me to windows 7 and told me it was amazing i might install it but a reinstall vistas disc would still be really nice to have.

NumaEntertainment - Spyware Doctor does offer limited realtime prrotection and is very popular. There really are many better alternatives to Lavasoft. I test each one that I make a video or write about and finding out which work better. AdAware was a class leader, but competition is stronger now and it is being left behind :-)

NumaEntertainment - Better detection rates. Although the free versions have no realtime monitoring Spyware Doctor has limited realtime monitoring, Web of Trust addon warns of dangerous sites and using a Hosts file or Spybot S&D will block many dangerous sites and active X controls. Threatfire also offers good protection and runs alongside your existing antivirus :-)
