I was the medical platoon sergeant when this incident went down in Iraq.It was less than 5 km outside of our FOB gate. SFC Cashe was an outstanding Soldier, leader, mentor, and friend. He led by example, always choosing the hard right over the easy wrong. If anyone has ever deserved the Congressional Medal of Honor, IT IS THIS SOLDIER.RIP to every brother we lost during that incident and every service member who ever sacrificed their lives for our freedom. You may be gone, but not from my heart.
RIP
