ParkZone Super Decathlon

ParkZone has redesigned their Super Decathlon, this time with a brushless 370 outrunner motor. The outrunner is more powerful, reliable and efficient than the earlier model. It is still a great park flyer but gives you longer flight times and even more aerobatic performance. Eric Johnson has been intimately involved with the development of the Super Decathlon and shares his expertise with us.

  • is this a good starter plane

  • I wouldn't recommend this as a first plane. Go with something like the HobbyZone Super Cub first, and after mastering that this would be a good 2nd plane.

  • Can I use a 3cell 11.1v Li-poly with this plane?

  • Possibly, but the thing is that it comes with a 10-amp ESC so you'd need to install one that has a higher rating. Honestly its not really designed for something that high power.

  • Hi just got this plane new in pnp form for £40 inc del cheap as chips.i run it with 3cell 11.1v lipos with the 10a eflight esc and flys very fast. If it burns out i dont care as its so cheap to have fun with.

keep up the good work horizon.

  • @rockey68 yes it is

  • can you fly this plane upside down??

  • I'm probably slightly below the skill level recommended for this plane but I bought it anyways. So far I have been quite pleased, it can be flown quite slow and landings are easy. Unfortunately the landing gear is quite weak and on my first hand launch it stalled and fell right on the right gear, ripping it out of the body and causing damage to the fuselage outside and internal plastic bracing :(

  • Hoping its much better than original SD

the original was WAY UNDERPOWERED! dont buy it
