  • is that a little ditty you made up yourself? or is it a tabbed song?

what i wanna know is, at the risk of sounding really, really ignorant, would i be able to play that on my acoustic, or is that kind of sound/song restricted to a fretless guitar?

    thanks :)

  • you could play it on any guitar. its just something i improvised off the top of my head. the only thing thats would sound different is that it wouldn't slide into the notes as much and may lose a little bit of the really dark feel. but it could definitely work!

  • go play your banjo, no crap its an epiphone, the other million people on youtube know that what i meant was that i modified it. Go critisize someone who deserves it, like yourself.

  • Do you have a particular string you prefer with the fretless?

  • nope, any will do

  • thats pretty cool, is it possible to sweep pick and tap on these?

  • Sounds good man. What technique did you use to get the frets out? Then did you do anything to the fingerboard to improve the sound? I've got a Squier that I'm this close to turning fretless, but haven't decided whether to use a glass slab, polished sheet aluminum, or most likely just fill the fret slots and use flatwound strings.

  • @dadikiuz

he took a normal guitar and removed the frets. he didn't "make" this guitar. He just wanted a fretless guitar for the unique, new sound illustrated in the video.

A fretless is not easier to play by any means.

  • Uhm so why did u choose to make a fretless instead of a normal? Is it easier to play on a fretless or what?

  • re: Dogdashdash

The video blog at youtube v=ec-FFH7CBpA has a demonstration on turning an electric to a fretless.

  • JesseS420, glad to hear you say i've got an IQ of about room temperature: it's 112 C in my head: that's where i live.

Why are you searching for an argue on a vid you don't even like. hope you'll die in the next 5 minutes

Nice vid btw!!, but there was some "distortion" in the commentpanel

  • nice playing !

  • How did you grind them down? Was the finish on the fretboard compromised? I got an old shitty parts neck sitting here and I wanna do this but I don't want to waste it.

  • Sounds a lot like Tool, very pleasant to hear, if only the higher notes would not squeak that much...

  • the way you put it you sound clueless and you still do.

yes playing a fretless is a lot harder but offers a fretless sound when sliding.
