5-23-1987. PART 1 OF 2. Rare footage, game has never been re-aired. This was probably the best all-around playoff game that year for the Lakers until the Celtic series.
I agree....dude was crazy. He even choked a guy (Wes Mathews in beg. of 87 season...he would have a 40 game suspension for that same offense today). I loved that guy. He also had a great turnaround J and had some sick dunks and before the knee injuries started to pile up.
the x man is my all time favorite player, not saying he's the best player but in my opinion the best enforcer. he'd beat k marts ass, artests ass. any fo the so called enforcers today
Yes, thanks for posting, especially since it was Chick Hearn's broadcast, Hearn was the best!
The thing I remember about this series was that, in game 4 in Seattle, the Sonics lead 40-14 after one quarter. A friend of mine (Celtic fan) called me after the 1st quarter to rub it in. I bet him that the Lakers would win the game, and sure enough, they did. The Sonics were celebrating after Q1 as if the game was over, L.A> stormed back and ended the series with a 133-102 win Just amazing.
Awesome, awesome.. Forgot channel 9 used to be able to still do their broadcast so late into the playoffs before TNT and ESPN monopolized that conference finals.. Love listening to Chickie Baby, this brings back some great great memories, yet again..
First off, thank you so much for posting this game npz4...most all of the showtime games feature the celtic rivalry, it's great to see the conference match-ups...Lakers blew the doors off the Sonics in a 4 game sweep, this is the closest match-up ...87 Team could do it all...check out Worthy's dunk on Chambers at 2:56, Big Game had 39 for the game..X Man had himself a game as well...
The Lakers were too deep for the Sonics in 1987
