@Toutbon very much like outliers. but... you're buying into the myth, yo! Mozart wasn't BORN a genius. The guy's dad LITERALLY wrote the book on how to teach music to kids and had him working from 3 on. Check out Talent is Overrated for the details. "“Is it ability or mindset? Was it Mozart’s musical ability or the fact that he worked till his hands were deformed? Was it Darwin’s scientific ability or the fact that he collected specimens non-stop from early childhood?” ~ Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D.
An interesting book reviewed. Immediately it reminded me of the Gladwell book "Outliers" which I haven't read but have listened to.
I think it is necessary to distinguish between skills which can be acquired through practice eg Tiger Woods and innate ability which people like Mozart and Rembrandt were born with and finetuned with practice.
