Some people like to have their dreads "neat" or "perfect". It doesn't make them any less important than neglect locks. Of course your dreads are real, and mine are too. Just because I like to keep them neat and cylindrical doesn't mean I don't have a spiritual connection or understanding of the history of dreadlocks.

@BeckyAngelix That's not what I'm saying at all! If you maintain them, good for you. I personal just don't like maintaining my hair. The way I see MY dreadlocks are more empowering for me if I just let them do their thing. But of course I respect anyones way of dreading. So the problem remains and still to come.First from my own point of view if you make them.Make them just for you.It's annoying seeing people who have dreads adopting some things for fashion for others to see that they are different that others.You adopt that thing and pretend,make some body moves to be rastafarian.some of you make dreads just for people's eyes so they will see and say woaaaaaa somebody different.

you dread lock talking to people about dreadlocks and you tell them they don't know what means dread lock and rastafarianism!Yes it has to becaus if you are a dreadlock or a rastafarian you reject medicine,and you don't go to doctor even to dentist.So this dread lock thing it's just a fashion.I know friend of mine who had dreads but they respected this tradition.And after a wile they cut down the dreads becaus in the country we live they didn't let them go to school if they had dreads.
