Why are you breathing so hard?
-
I was cycling to school once and was going down a hill and at the last second saw black ice across the whole road I slowed down to jogging speed ready to put my feet out ready and immediately did a 360 spin then slid about 5 metres on my arse.
I remember the horrible feeling of the front wheel slipping out...

i remember crashing i was changing
gear and the bike flew down the hill
and hit the kurb i flew off

reminds me of my first bike accident at Piccadilly Circus of all places. I went arse over bollocks, over the handle bars and ofcourse with no protective gear. Managed to avoid my head hitting the ground but my knees and palms were wrecked for about 1 1/2 months. I even had gravel stuck in my palms lol and ofcourse it was raining :) Great vid as usual.

bad luck, mate. Even rain water makes it that slippery sometimes, eh?
-
The point here is that you should always have clothing on all parts even if light clothing. Some clothing is better than none and will provide some protection. Be safe people and ride carefully.
-
You suck. Why don't you learn to ride before you criticise everyone else, moron.
-
is your nick name ROAD RASH
-
Haha wow, I just watched a couple of your videos and you seem to have horrible luck on a bike!
I admire your commitment.

so do your gloves give added protection? are they lycra? or are they made of a more grippy material?
Oops, glad you were OK!

I added a link to a pic of the injury to the description. ;) The skin has all grown back now.

Was it ice or a lethal mix of road salt & diesel spilled on the roundabout? I've known roads feel slippery like ice but found clothes covered in grease after a fall. I recently purchased an Archos 605 SD card recorder as I was worried about hard drive failure after a knock like this. Still OK?

I think it may have been a diesel, fog and salt mixture like you say. The Pouch I put the Archos in hit the road and was scuffed, the HD seems ok although I did have one damaged file that couldn't be deleted. I reformatted and it is ok so far,but it definitely took a hit. Hopefully it can work around any damaged disk areas. Archos SD sounds ideal! I will have to have a look at one once this one eventually dies.

I've put 8GB card in Archos 605 WiFi. Max file size 2GB so can do 4 of them recording direct to card. At night full resolution video records at 11MB/minute but daytime this is 17MB so can record continuous for 2 or 3 hours. Can cut/crop video on device which is neat if away. V useful to save disk space & record again. Battery life poor when using camera (not sure but may be less than 1 hour), but 5 hours playback. I plug 4 x 2200mAh AA batt pack into DC socket to record long time. How's yours?

Mine seems to do an hours ride with no problems. My commute is quite short. I am going to have a look inside the Archos and see if it is easy to swap out the hard drive... definitely worth a try before I replace the whole thing.
