  • What song is this?

  • @TheDuckster33 not sure, i only got the video from website that educate about loudness war. But that was almost 3 years ago, even i forgot already the name of the website.

p/s: if there are any user out there who know the original website which is this video originated from, kindly reply to me. Thank you.

  • @SymphonyOfDestruct99 It's my video; I made it several years ago. The original is still on YouTube: 3Gmex_4hreQ . You probably would have found the HQ version on Digital Domain (digido), the web site of mastering engineer Bob Katz who was nice enough to host it for me a few years ago. I also have an explanation on data vs. dynamic compression on my channel. Thanks, -Matt

  • @LoudnessWar I see. Sorry for stealing your video. At that time i just want to share it to everybody.

  • Take off that damn blurb at the beginning of the video. Endgame suffers from the loudness war more terribly than any of Megadeth's remastered albums, and that's really saying a lot.

The clipping on the album is atrocious.

  • @TheRimeOfIcarus u right i just realized that, our nation pressing have lower loudness maybe due to the defective process in manufacturing.

  • Outstanding video. Thank you for posting this. This is so fundamental to the problems with over compression and non lossless music of today. I see it as the effect of the MP3 generation who listen to music on little earphones on their Ipods and the popularity of hip hop which really stresses the whole buzzing thumping bass sound. The over compression makes it louder not better. All the suttle aspects of the music are gone. frequencies chopped.

  • This is "dynamic range compression" (lessening "volume contrast") and is different from "data compression."

(MP3 commonly uses "data compression," and it does not necessarily distort the volume/loudness.)

Any digital sound data can have its "volume contrast" lessened and NOT be "data compressed." And vice versa.

  • Just another reason to keep pirating music. It's shit anymore anyways.

  • @SymphonyOfDestruct99 No problem. When I put it together I had no idea it would get big, and I used copyrighted music (in good faith as under Fair Use), so it is not legal for me to make any money or anything off it. I'm just glad people find it helpful. I'd appreciate if you would put a link in the description to the LoudnessWar YouTube page, though. Thanks for being cool about it.

  • @TheDuckster33 The name of the song is "Figure Of Eight" by Paul McCartney.

Name of the album: Flowers In The Dirt, 1989 (when Linda was still alive - R.I.P.)

Other famous songs of that album: My Brave Face, Put It There, This One, and more...

  • @TheDuckster33

have a look at the titles at the end ;]

  • @tjrtherocksponge De Mastering seems to be a more accurate term. BUY VINYL!!!
