that is not real bunkai. first, it does not mimic ANY kind of real attack. no one will EVER attack you in zenkutsu dachi stepping in with an oyi zuki. second, do you think someone is going to be so intimidated by you blocking one of their punches that you will be able to turn your back on them without counter-striking to block a punch from the other opponent you saw with your second set of eyes behind you? kihon bunkai like this is a waste of time because it is completely unrealistic.

So bad! I don't even know where to start. Maybe this has been taken out of context, maybe it isn't meant to be taken seriously. You don't have to know the "secrets" to know that this so called bunkai is missing the point of kata and karate in general. Unfortunately this is very common in many clubs today.

this is nothing more than a coordination drill .everybody searches for the elusive "original bunkai" which doesn't exist as no interpretation can be considered the one and only true interpretation .different experience and depth of knowledge by different sensei means different bunkai and even those are subject to henka or variation.If this is the only bunkai he knows then his knowledge has very lttle depth.
