In the early nineties Graham Freer, the newsreader on Radio Mercury started to "enhance" his morning weather forecasts on the Jon Scragg breakfast show - Going outdoors on nice days etc. Here is a short selection that I was mad enough to record from May 1990. Hopefully it will raise a smile. It always does for me. This was a period when Radio Mercury was at it's best. Pity it didn't last. Apologies for the distortion and variable quality of the sound - it is copied from a cassette - You might need to turn the volume down a bit. Wonderful.
Graham Freer was with LBC in London before joining Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton in 1976. He was last known to be heard on the south coast, but no longer in broadcasting.
