Alexis Korner was born in Paris to an Austrian father and Greek mother, and spent his childhood in France, Switzerland, and North Africa. He arrived in London in 1940 at the start of the Second World War. One memory of his youth was listening to a record by Jimmy Yancey during a German air raid. He said, "From then on all I wanted to do was play the blues."

  • @adar5708 The world wide web was created by a Brit does that mean only Brit's should be allowed to use the web or does your idiotic argument only focus on race, in which case only white people should be allowed to the web or is it just music that you think should be race exclusive?

Perhaps we should just agree we are all human and we can all teach and learn from each other? Or is that a ridiculous thing to ask?

  • This has the real down home sound....Thanks Joseph

  • Pat Boone was Black

  • He might be an Octaroon

  • Pat Boone stole from the black man. Alexis Korner and John Mayall are responsible for Americans learning about our own blues legacy. Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker and all the other blues originators owe a debt of gratitude to the people who saw the value of this music and brought it to a larger audience. These blues greats would have wallowed in obscurity otherwise. adar5708 - you are the racist!

  • @r0tat0 He (has) stolen from black man's culture HAVE YOU UNDERSTOOD THIS TIME ROTATO HEAD?

  • @adar5708 if he was stolen from a black man then he's black and can sing the blues? (you are an idiot)

  • can't sing the blues, he's white and he's stolen from the black man

  • Fantastic. Thanks for posting.

    Chris Farlow on vocals.

  • @xojbabyxo reminds me of the good ole days
