This is another song from the 1975 MGM LP "Sami Jo" and is one of Sami's personal favorites of her recordings. It was written by Jim Weatherly and receives nothing less than a brilliant interpretation by Sami. I hope you enjoy it!.
In my opinion, this song features one of Sami's most moving performances. I love the acoustic guitar work in the record, the dynamic way the song builds, and the way Sam alternates between almost whispering and outright belting, depending on what the lyrics require.
Sami Jo wrote the book on nuance, power AND restraint, and it saddens me that her style of singing is just not heard anymore.
Sami, if you happen to see this, PLEASE record again! People WANT to hear you.
What a beautiful song...must confess that know
nothing of this lady. Thanks Motowntown Boy
