  • I totally agree. Although I think Zeitgeist had some flashes of brilliance.

  • beautiful song...between this and As Rome Burns...I think the SP are officially back. Zeitgeist was pretty much garbage, and G.L.O.W. isn't that great. ARB is totally brutal...the best "heavy" track since X.Y.U.

And A Song For A Son is very Adore-esque...and possibly the most touching song he has written since For Martha. Thumbs WAY up on all the new songs they've put out in the past few days...

  • this is much better as everything on "zeitgeist". finally....a good song with the a really great structure...likr the old day...more than glad that billy announced to go back to the pumpkin-routes!!!

  • Well, if you listen to zeitgeist comparing it to previous songs from Sp u can't fully appreciate it. Do you old stuff wanters compare ur girlfriends all the time with ur previous girlfriends or so?Zeitgeist is a very rocking album, with flashes of brilliance also. ANd for some reason i totally love 'bring the light'. :)

  • To better emphasize what I meant before. I didn't enjoy Zeitgeist, mainly because the lyrics were mostly weak and there was little-to-no emotion and the similarity between the songs. Listen to MCIS or Machina and try to tell me which songs sound the same. The one thing I will grant Zeitgeist is Jimmy's drumming. Holy shit that bastard can hit shit. He is in top form on that album, at least. The only tracks that stand out to me are Tarantula, and the bonus tracks: Zeitgeist, Steller & Ma Belle.

  • sounds to me like the pumpkins have returned

  • i was there...and the crowd got excited for the pumpkins...and then they played all new stuff and no one cared. they were all kind of down and, in my opinion, bad choices for the bridge school.

i was honestly bored through most of their set.

  • i respectfully disagree. i think the songs he did in are much better than anything he's put out in the last five years. goddamn mary star of the sea, wasting time, spilled milk, they all destroy anything he could probably hope to write nowadays. i do like zeitgeist the song though.

  • stellar.. and death from above..

  • Don't forget Gossamer when you talk about good new pumpkins songs.

I don't think Zeitgeist was garbage, but I agree they're getting better and better.

They should probably have formed a band and toured a bit before starting to record a new album. Seems to me, because I saw them in June 07 at Rock am Ring and then in February 08 and while I loved both shows, I think they were _much_ better the second time. They seemed to have grown together..

  • i was there.

  • id have to say that the only really great song of zeitgeist is united states, others like pomp and circumstance, thats the way my love is are acceptable though
