Trent Reznor could never make Puppy obsolete! NO BAND ON EARTH could do that!!! As long as we [humans]are doing what we are doing to this planet, it natural inhabitants and ouselves and each other, Puppy will not become obsolte...so basically until we are extinct, Puppy will be very relavent and timeless. Back in 1986 when I first heard them, I remember saying to my sister [whom turned me on to them]"This band is 20 years ahead of their time, if not more; they will last into the 21st century."

NIN didn't have more of an impact on the industrial scene. They (really he) had more of an impact on the mainstream scene. I loved NIN back in the day. But when I saw a magazine in the local convenience store calling Trent the "Elvis of Industrial" that pretty much summed it up. All he did was help make it trendy, like Elvis for the poor black man's blues. Now its all corporatised with gay stores like Hot Topic.

@TheGorgorothSpire I'm a fan of both but more-so skinny puppy. NIN is amazing also but nowhere near the talent of SP. and Trent Reznor himself would tell you that. Trust me. He looks up to them. Hell, he even looked up to them when he was starting out!! First he came out with an album (which I love) that is based around love. Then, a straight up industrial rock album. SP has nothing to do with guitars. Just synths and drums, that's it. They are completely different. Stop comparing them...

@getbakedtonight ok that's your opinion. Just because Skinny Puppy had an impact on YOUR emotions doesn't mean they did for EVERYONE and more so than nin. Don't just generalize how you feel with the band to all the fans. You're clearly a bias fan and you don't experience both the way separate fans might

@hellscion7 Though I disagree with you, what's your point? If he was pop, he shouldn't even be brought up into the conversation and be put down. And so what if he was pop? Rap? Hip hop? Music is what it is. Skinny Puppy is amazing in their own way... I don't feel anyone has to put another professional artist down just to give them more credit. I think people are jealous Trent Reznor is more successful I guess. I couldn't care less.

Trent Reznor is a pop star, Skinny Puppy is real art? Why do you people always have to put down one talented artist in order to glorify another? They're both amazing. Just enjoy the music and stop excluding other great musicians to do it. Both artists have done things the other can not.
