  • i lost count of the number of times i've watched this wyatt, i actually prefer this to the orig as i love your playing man.

    thx

  • @goonchistaw Yeah Man! I love ya Mate! I really appreciate your comments. They keep me going in my mundane 9-5 existence. How cool it would have been to have grown up in England during the late 70's and played in punk bands and hanging out. That was the coolest music scene ever in my book.

  • @pwyndam england in the late 70s was a nightmare or this music wouldn't exist

but it did & i went to every gig i could i 1st saw the clash in manchester '80 i was 14 & just like you got addicted as they sang about real things , eg deny , smack, career opps, 3mill out of work , they really changed my outlook on life & it's great to find a guitarist who would make mick jones happy he passed it on thx wyatt

i love deny the best as i love your style of play on it. thanx man.

  • @goonchistaw Man, what a show that must have been! Lucky guy. Awesome! Yeah, there's not enough reality going around especially here in the states compared to England. My dad grew up in England and I think I inhereted his british sensibilities. Its fascinating the beauty that came out of the punk scene in the late 70's in response to such things as the National Front, trash piling up in the streets, race riots, police brutality, the bloated 70's bands, unemployment, and disallusionment.

  • @pwyndam As I've gotten older I see now how human struggle and strife always seems to bring out the best in people. The Clash never would have been if not for the despair felt by England in the 70's. I feel the despair here in the states with the craziness in the World today. Writing originals. Have you seen The Filth and the Fury Sex Pistols film or Alan Mile's film Who Shot The Sheriff yet? Both are great at explaining and documenting the problems in England during the late 70's. Fascinating!

  • This is fucking brilliant! Great work!

  • Hello mate, Just checking your stuff out here - excellent it is to. I remember when the album first came out and this particular track. I was looking for work at the time and always thought the lyric were "keep you off the dock" - funny I ended up working on the dock for 30 years. I remember going to see The Clash, just after "Give 'em enough rope" was released - one of the best nights of my life. Glad to say, my eldest son is a big fan of the Clash.

All the best from the uk

  • Ok, this is absolutely the best CO cover on YT. I checked all of them out. Love the guitar man! Is that a Standard? I couldn't read the model name. Your sound is perfect. The playing is spot on. Very cool.

checked out your influences-I don't think there's a band listed I DON'T like. You have great musical taste!!

  • Sweet! playing clash with a rancid shirt.. best combo I've ever seen!! ;D

  • @pwyndam it was amazing as i'd been hearing "the clash" lp & knew it off by heart

so i went with my bro on tues oct 7th '80 @ mcr apollo & was really blown out by the sheer force of the band as i understood it by 14 & my continuing affair was in bloom

for the clash for life , you have a very good understanding of what it was like in england in the late 70s & this band wrote about it perfectly , your comment is spot on wyatt , just like your playin mate. always a pleasure

    thx bro.
