My Immortal - Logan and Alice

Dedicated to Wolverine and Rift (Logan and Alice)

Story taken for my old rp forum, Cure Wars.

Logan had been away from the mansion when he met Rift, at a bar. They spoke, and flirted of course. When some weapon-x operatives raided the bar, they found out they were both mutants. Inviting her to the x-men, she accepted. They later became part-time lovers, never really starting a realitionship. When weapon-x raided the instuite in search of their lost project, Rift. Knocking her out with a special nerve dart, she was to be taken. Wolverine seeing her on the floor imedietly rushed to her aid.

After this event, she opened up to Wolverine about her past. They became closer mentaly, but also farther away from each other. Niether one knew what to do about the other. Later she fell in with the brotherhood, staying at the mansion but holding no allegence to them. Xavier discovered this and sent Logan to talk her out of it. She had been ordered to get the plans for a facility that was holding a possible 'cure' for the mutation. Logan caught her in the act, she pulled gun. It would have been useless, but Alice couldn't pull the trigger. Running from the scene, without the plans or speaking to Logan.

Now a member of the brotherood for nearly a year, with an on and off realitionship with Logan. Alice decides to break into a weapon-x facility in hope of discovering her and possible Logan's past. The brotherhood unable to talk her out of it, she goes in alone.

Logan has been unable to stop himself from thinking of Alice most of this time. He is completely unaware of what Alice is up to.
She is killed, breaking into the facility. Logan is not told of the events for nearly 6 months after, when a close friend of Alice in the brotherhood comes forward and tells him.

(what actual happened in the role-play)

Alice and the brotherhood lead a raid against the X-Mansion. An unknown mutant enters the battle, and releases Rift's memories. Causing her to loose completely control of her power. She opens a Rift in Time and space in the backyard of the mansion. Unable to find another way, she kills herself to save Logan and everyone on the planet.

Nick who played Logan, strung out the death scene for nearly 20 posts, trying to save Alice. He refused as with a Logan persona to let go of Alice. It was a tragic moment for the forum. The forum died nearly a month later, with Wolverine opening the same rift and leaving with the possibility to find her in an alternate universe.

A very beautiful story. I have to say that is very moving and it is a sad sad occurrence when a beautiful character is killed off, especially one that has such deep roots in the roleplay. I doubt very seriously that I could kill off any of my rp characters.
