  • @fergus1494 Up until only a few years ago, they were still using big bore Holley carburettors and basic electronic ignition. Holden built a more advanced engine than its Chevrolet cousin back in 1969

  • @Mechknight73 Nascar engines are far more technically advanced. V8 supercars use Nascar based engines modified for australian rules.

  • There needs to be more support for production car racing in Australia. It's hard to believe people still think the V8 SuperCars are Fords or Holdens and the CoF is going to be even less like the production version.

  • @GREENVK i dont believe that IRS isnt allowed, its just that the 4 point live axle they use is still considered a good standard in many forms of saloon racing, when you consider msot european racing now takes place with front wheel drive cars, in a similar class. Not to mention they have fairness testing amongst manufacturers to make sure someone doesnt do a big spend on massive improvements that other people done have. In a way it sort of self governs the progression of the cars.

  • @13cal13 Nope, not much of a newspaper reader myself. I'm more online

  • @MeFrom07 well done you can read the news paper

  • @RIEKSONE They're all fat shits who can only do two things.... Floor it and turn left... BORING!!!

  • @Mechknight73 V8 Supercars still use live axles until the CoF (Car of the Future) is introduced next year.

  • @Mechknight73 V8 Supercars are all live axle. No IRS allowed.

  • @bluegrassboy2448 I heard that after much protest, NASCAR finally agreed to use fuel injection. Australian V8 Supercars are a lot more advanced than NASCARS, running fuel injection through electronic management, independent suspension on all corners, and infinitely adjustable on just about anything on the car. This kind of racing is more of a spectacle not only because of the circuits, but because every time one decelerates they spit a 3 foot long flame out the exhaust
