The "Fox Box heroes" never physically meet up with each other in this TV special. It's all a bunch of clever editing with minimal new animation. They team up in the sense that they hear that the Fox Box broadcast codes were stolen, and that they need to face their enemy to try to get it back, but that's about it.

Eggman, why are you concerned about a blue hedgehog more than an obese purple cat fishing when it's on your property (I will assume it is) and stealing all of your fish? I would be more concerned about that..

Secondly, it seems like Big was just outside of Eggman's property.
