  • What is that joystick you're using for the review? It looks funky.

  • @TeamRocketReviews Good question. I just hunted all through my games room trying to find it so I could tell you. I think it's somewhere up in the loft though. If I ever find it, I'll let you know... lol

  • @SteveBenway Just did a search for it, it's a Quickjoy Superstar. What do you think of it? Is it any good?

  • @TeamRocketReviews It's very nice when it works, but I think this one's seen better days, hence being in the loft. It's on my "strip it down and clean it one day" list :)

  • I havent got 1 in my collection & frankly after seeing your review i dont care, i would rarther buy a system that i can play software on that has no other Hardware support, Y pay hundreds for a boxed 1 when a 64c ( slimline ) can be picked up at any bootsale for under £20 boxed

  • @doubledragonuk Yes, you make a very fair point. I saw someone buy one of these for £700 a couple of months ago (insane) and now he's trying to sell it again and can't even get £500 for it. Serves him right... silly person.

I only have this one as I was fortunate enough to pick it up for £10 at a car boot sale in around '97.

  • Because The C64 and Amiga 500 were both big successes, Commodore thought they could walk on water and anything they released after would do really well... But they began to misjudge the market badly. This console, CDTV, CD32??? No wonder they went bust!

  • @TeamRocketReviews could u upload the best setup please????!! best eu!!

  • @TheSpliffKing What about 6510, VIC-II, and 6581 SID? That's a lot better.

  • nice hardware... what about I7 and nvidia gtx 660?

  • i agree, it does look nice. :)

  • @DeviousTelevision; "This *might* have been interesting in 1984"

Interestingly, around the same time as the C64's launch, C= *did* release a game-oriented computer called the "Max machine" (AKA Ultimax) based on a *very* cut-down version of the same hardware. It apparently flopped totally in Japan and it's unclear if it was ever sold elsewhere.

The C64 included a "Max machine" compatibility mode, apparently.
